Germ shield solutions for bank teller lines
Financial institutions use germ shields, typically made of transparent materials like acrylic or glass, to proactively enhance customer safety and hygiene. Acting as a physical barrier between customers and employees, these shields reduce the risk of germ transmission, especially during global health concerns like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Implementing them at service points such as teller windows or customer service desks aims to create a secure environment, aligning with health guidelines and fostering trust in the banking sector during times of heightened public health awareness.

Project Needs: A 470+ branch national bank needed a new germ shield solution for their branch teller lines. Many of their existing germ shields had either become scratched, cloudy, or damaged, and/or did not meet the bank’s goals for customer experience and engagement.
How Fenco Solutions Helped:
- Held customer and dealer team meetings to understand the project scope and requirements
- Site surveys were taken for teller line measurements, and total germ shields needed
- New germ shields were designed based on the customer’s existing teller lines
- Prototypes were installed for field testing, fit, finish, and function
- Design adjustments are implemented based on customer responses
- Multi-branch solution approved for rollout
